|25-09-2019 am| Sperm whales and Common dolphins in the South of Pico

This morning, the lookout found Sperm whales (Physeter macrocephalus) in the South of Pico island.

On our way to the whales, we found a group of Short-beaked common dolphins (Delphinus delphis). The pod was feeding and there were Seabirds like the Cory's Shearwaters (Calonectris borealis) around trying to catch some fish too.

When we arrived at the whales, they were shallow diving. But luckily, a few of them showed the fluke because they dived deep.

Thank you all for joining our team. You can enjoy and share the pictures that our biologist Maria took during the expedition.
