This morning we saw Sperm whales (Physeter macrocephalus), Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) and Atlantic spotted dolphins (Stenella frontalis). Thank you all for joining us in this adventure. |27-08-2019 5 pm| Socializing Sperm whales and Common dolphins
In this evening expedition we went out to enjoy the group of Sperm whales (Physeter macrocephalus) that had been around the whole day. They were still socializing and calm. Some of the juveniles got curious and approached the boat. We were alone with them so we could enjoy it perfectly. On the way back to Horta, a pod of around 60 Short-beaked common dolphins (Delphinus delphis) crossed our way and we stopped and enjoyed them a bit more. Thank you all for joining our team. Yo

|27-08-2019 2 pm| Socializing Sperm whales in the North
The lookout found a group af Sperm whales (Physeter macrocephalus) in the North of the channel between Faial and Pico islands. The group had been diving during the morning but in the afternoon we saw them geting back together and socialize. At least 8 whales were there. We also saw a pod of Bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) with a newborn and an other pod of Atlantic spotted dolphins (Stenella frontalis). Thank you all for joining our team. This afternoon we found a group of at least 4 Sowerby's beaked whales (Mesoplodon bidens) on our way to the Sperm whales (Physeter macrocephalus). We also saw a Loggerhead seaturtle (Caretta caretta) and seabirds. At the very end we went to find a group of Short-beaked common dolphins (Delphinus delphis) mixed with a few Stripped dolphins (Stenella coeruleoalba). Thank you all for joining our team. This morning luck was in the South of the channel between Faial and Pico Islands. We saw a mixed pod of False killer whales (Pseudorca crassidens) with Oceanic bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus). Some of the false killer whales were jumping in order to remove parasites. A group of Sperm whales (Physeter macrocephalus) were in the area too. We already knew these whales as they have been there for several weeks.
