|23-07-2019 pm| 8 Sperm whales in the South of the channel between Faial and Pico islands
After a very rough morning, the afternoon trip has been great. Lookouts have worked hard and have found a pod of Sperm whales (Physeter macrocephalus) close enough to the shore for us to avoid the bad weather.
After a little waiting, we have had the chance to share this amazing whales to our amazing explorers and have an incredible afternoon.
You can find some pictures of the expedition bellow. The pod of Sperm whales was composed by adults and at least 2 calves.
