|21082020am| Close encounter with pilot whales

The first day that we could go out after a few days of bad weather! So good it feels to be in the water again :)
After our spotter spotted some animals, we equipped our team and went to look for them!
On the south of #Picoisland we saw a big group of pilot whales (Globicephala sp.). The group was really calm, approaching the boat a few times.
It is not a species that we see often in our expeditions and especially so close as today!

O primeiro dia em que conseguimos sair depois de alguns dias e mau tempo! Soube tão bem estar de novo na água :)
Depois do nosso vigia ter avistado animais, equipámos a equipa e fomos à procura deles!
No sul da #ilhadoPico vimos um grupo grande de baleias piloto (Globicephala sp.). O grupo estava bastante calmo e aproximou-se do barco algumas vezes.
Não é uma espécie que se veja com frequência e tão perto como hoje!
