After a few days without any whales, they are back!
Today was an amazing morning, we had sun and not much wind. Perfect to go out at sea!
The spotter told us that the whales were in the south of Pico, so we gather our Naturalists and went for our adventure!
In the channel between Faial and Pico, we found a big group of bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus), with at least 50 dolphins! The group was very compact and some of the animals were curious and approached the boat. If you would like to know more about this species check our fact datasheet about bottlenose dolphins.
We didn't stay long because the whales were getting further away.
Soon we arrive at the location where the whales were sighted, it didn't take long to see the first blow!
In total, we saw at least 3 sei whales (Balaenoptera borealis), but we believe we had a group of 4! Normally, the baleen whales travel alone but sometimes we can be lucky enough to see these small groups.
The whales were traveling at a low speed always in the direction of the west. During the sighting, the whales would leave their footprints (bubbles created by the propulsion of their tails), which helped us tracked them.
If you would like to know more about this species check our fact datasheet about sei whales.
Thank you for joining us! Enjoy and share the photos from our expedition.
See you soon!

Scoliosis involves abnormal spinal curvature, often due to degenerative discs or vertebral issues. Stem cell injections target these damaged areas directly. The cells work to reduce inflammation, promote the regeneration of disc material, and strengthen supporting spinal structures, potentially improving alignment and halting progression from within.
