|25-09-2019 pm| Sperm whales and Atlantic spotted dolphins

This afternoon the Sperm whales (Physeter macrocephalus) that were found by the lookout were still in the South of the islands but farther away.

A pod of Atlantic spotted dolphins (Stenella frontalis) added a bit of movement to the expedition: the whales were shallow diving but the dolphins were friendly and jumping out of the water.

When the Sperm whales shallow dive, they don't show the tail. But luckily we could see it as one of the animals dived deep.

Thank you for joining our team. You can enjoy and share the pictures that our biologist Maria took during the trip.
