|202109010| Sperm whale from São Miguel | Cachalote de São Miguel

Great expedition today! Thanks to you we managed to collect data for our monitoring programs, including sperm whales (Physeter macrocephalus).
Today was the day to see again the sperm whale male most famous of the Azores archipelago!
We saw the male that has been seen in São Miguel for a few years now and that is believed to be resident in the Azores.
In the past two months this sperm whale has been around Pico island and Faial island, maybe it will stay around! Normally, this sperm whale is always found not too far away from shore.

Grande expedição hoje! Graças a vós conseguimos recolher dados para os nossos programas de monitorização ambiental, incluindo cachalote (Physeter macrocephalus).
Hoje foi dia de ver um dos cachalotes machos mais conhecido no arquipélago dos Açores!
Avistámos o cachalote que já é avistado há vários anos na ilha de São Miguel e que em princípio será residente nos Açores.
Nos últimos dois meses este cachalote tem andado entre a ilha do Pico e a ilha do Faial, sendo sempre encontrado a poucas milhas de costa.
