|25-08-2019 am| Amazing Azorean biodiversity

This morning luck was in the South of the channel between Faial and Pico Islands. We saw a mixed pod of False killer whales (Pseudorca crassidens) with Oceanic bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus). Some of the false killer whales were jumping in order to remove parasites.

A group of Sperm whales (Physeter macrocephalus) were in the area too. We already knew these whales as they have been there for several weeks.

At the very end we moved towards a big group of Short-beaked common dolphins (Delphinus delphis).

Thank you all for joining our team. You can enjoy and share the pictures that our biologist Maria took during the expedition.
