|ENG| The first day that we could go out after a few days of bad weather! So good it feels to be in the water again :) After our spotter spotted some animals, we equipped our team and went to look for them! On the south of #Picoisland we saw a big group of pilot whales (Globicephala sp.). The group was really calm, approaching the boat a few times. |ENG| This day couldn't have gone better! Early morning, no wind and the sun was shining :) Our experienced spotter told us that he was seeing some whales on the south of #PicoIsland, so we equipped the team of Naturalists and went off to a new adventure. |ENG| Today the weather and sea conditions were perfect! No wind, really calm sea and bright sun! In the morning we talked to the spotter on the north of #Faialisland and he said he already had seen some sperm whales (Physeter macrocephalus). So after receiving this information we went to pick the team of Naturalists that were waiting in Madalena, #Picoisland. With the Naturalists on board, we went to look for the sperm whales! |ENG| Early morning and our experienced spotter, in the south of #PicoIsland, already had some sperm whales (Physeter macrocephalus) under his guard. So after all the naturalists are properly equipped we went straight to the area where the sperm whales were spotted. We saw a beautiful tail when the sperm whale deep dove. Incr|ENG| A calm sea and big sperm whales (Physeter macrocephalus) close to #Faialisland and #Picoisland, we cannot ask for more! A group of sailor Naturalists requested special moments, and so they had! Our experienced spotter already had sighted the sperm whales so we went straight to the location. After the cross of the canal between Faial and Pico we saw a big group of spotted dolphins (Stenella frontalis) full of babies! The animals were very active and very social with the boat!
