Great expedition today! Thanks to you we managed to collect data for our monitoring programs, including sperm whales (Physeter macrocephalus)!
We had such a great expedition today!
On our way to see a group of sperm whales we found 2 loggerhead turtles (Caretta caretta).
The group of sperm whales that we were seeing had two juveniles that started socializing with each other and an adult sperm whale that was nearby. They start rubbing in each other, coming up to the surface in a vertical position showing their heads and also their jaws!
On our way back each meter that we would do, there was a new turtle to see! On that trip we saw 9 different turtles!

Grande expedição hoje! Graças a vós conseguimos recolher dados para os nossos programas de monitorização ambiental, incluindo cachalotes (Physeter macrocephalus)!
A expedição de hoje foi incrível!
O mar estava super calmo, parecia um espelho!
Avistámos um grupo de cachalotes que tinham dois juvenis que estiveram a socializar durante todo o avistamento! Conseguimos ver melhor as suas cabeças e até conseguimos observar a parte do maxilar.
Para além dos fantásticos cachalotes, avistámos 9 tartarugas comuns (Caretta caretta)!
