The pod of Sperm whales (Physeter macrocephalus) that the lookout found in the South of Faial island has been around for at least 2 weeks. We easily recognized the group on the expedition due to the cuts that one of the individuals has in its tail.
This afternoon the whales were swimming towards South-west, offshore, so for us was harder to follow them. But we did it!
